Dr. Balbir Singh Tomar, Chairman of Nims University attended the third India Africa Forum Summit (IAFS) 2015 in Delhi from 26th-29th October 2015. He was the guest of honour along with the heads of the government of 54 nations across Africa and the Indian Government. It was a 5 day summit which involved official level meeting between the head of States/governments of India and Africa. 

The India Africa Forum Summit (IAFS) celebrates the partnership between the two countries and acknowledges their common history and future prospects. It is held once in every three years and serves as an official platform for the relationships between Africa and India. It is a landmark occasion which marks the relationships of the African continent and India. India and Africa share a historic relationship which has evolved into a sustainable partnership. Both the countries have faced the challenges of colonialism and apartheid.

Prof. (Dr.) Balvir S. Tomar stated that we want to travel far on the path of development and we want to travel together with our African friends and partners, in the true spirit of Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas (Together with all, Development for all).

Sushma Swaraj, the IAFS External Affairs Minister highlighted the spirit of cooperation and partnership between the countries focusing on the concept of “Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas.” She said that the third India-Africa Forum Summit in Delhi was like a ‘family reunion’ and pointed to the shared history of struggle against imperialism, colonialism, racial discrimination and apartheid between the countries. 

Ms. Swaraj further added that India has always stood for and with Africa. The relationship between the two countries is forged in the crucible of the shared struggle against imperialism, colonialism, racial discrimination and apartheid. The longstanding and multifaceted India-Africa development partnership is based on the principles of equality, friendship and solidarity. It represents one of the finest examples of South-South cooperation.

Prof. Dr. Balbir S. Tomar (Chairman and Chancellor – Nims University) on Infant Protection Day addressed the medical fraternity and the pediatric society, the importance of infant care. Infants are small, helpless, and needful newborns and need their parents or caregivers to take care of them. They need a lot of attention. Sometimes, providing that care as a new parent or caregiver can seem daunting. Take a deep breath, it gets easier once you learn about your infants basic needs and how to provide for them.

Childcare for infants and toddlers is important for their proper upbringing. Children in their tender age need more care & protection, if done well, can enrich children’s early experience.

Unfortunately, although more and more children in this country are moving into group care at younger ages and for longer periods of time, we are missing opportunities to provide quality care. Indeed, current practices in many infant/ toddler child care settings actually hinder caregivers, children, and parents from forming and sustaining the deep, responsive, and respectful relationships that are the hallmark of quality.

The six key components of early group experience are group size; quality of the physical environment; primary care giving assignments; continuity of care; cultural and familial continuity; and meeting the needs of the individual within the group context. How these components of group care are addressed determines, to a large extent, the opportunities for responsive care giving and caring relationships in infant/toddler child care.

Dusshera Celebration at NIMS University

Keeping the festive spirit alive, Dussehra was celebrated on 22nd October 15 at NIMS ground. Various activities including speeches on Dussehra, Poetic Ramayana and a dance on Hanuman Chalisa glorified the occasion. To mark Lord Rama’s victory over Ravana and to reinforce the message that good always triumphs over evil, the effigy of Ravana was burnt along with which students burnt one evil habit each that they had written on paper slips, while promising to shun it. Honourable Chairman & Chancellor of NIMS University Prof.( Dr.) Balbir S. Tomar blessed the Nims Fraternity and students, while inspiring them to follow the path of truth.

The event was held at the headquarters of Border Security Force in Jaipur on 21st October 2015. The Managing Director of Nims University; Shobha Tomar was the guest of honor in the event.

Paying homage to the martyrs and respecting their selfless deeds, Prof. Balbir Singh Tomar; Nims Chairmain saluted the courage and audacity of their families to dedicate their loved ones for the service of the nation. He congratulated the Border Secturity Force for the completion of its 50 years.  Prof. Balbir Singh Tomar further appreciated the initiative of Border Security Force to acknowledge the noble and selfless deeds of the martyrs and felicitating their families.

NIMS University Celebrated Navratri

The last quarter of the year in India is the most celebratory and the most lovely. A mess of celebrations fall amid this quarter and are commended with enthusiasm and warmth. Navratri evenings are no special case and were praised at NIMS with a 3 day long occasion. The festivals were initiated by Prof. (Dr.) Balbir Singh Tomar on nineteenth October and kept running till 21st October. 

Additionally the Chairman at NIMS, Dr. Balbir Singh Tomar introduced the occasion by taking after the custom of 'Profound Yagya' or light illumination in NIMS sanctuary in the college premises.
